observations week 4
This week during my observation time I observed an Actino Sphaerium proven by: Patterson, D.J. "Free-Living Freshwater Protozoa." Free-Living Freshwater Protozoa A Color Guide. 1st. 4. Washington D.C.: Manson Publishing, 2009. Print. It was living in the bottom of the micro aquarium.

This week during my observation I observed a Spirogyra Proven by
Lund, John. Freshwater Algae . 1st. 1. Bristol, England: Biopress Limited, 1995. 58. Print. It was easily identified by its spiral, chloroplasts that were a big help in identifying the organism. It was found in the bottom of the micro aquarium, half hidden.

observations week 2
During this weeks observations I found a Nitzschia Paradoxa (Carpenters Ruler) proven by Burnett, J.H. Ecology of Marine Planktonic Diatoms. 1st. 1. Los Angles, California: University of California Press, 1977. 415-416. Print.
Also one "Atison's Betta Food" made by Ocean Nutrition, Aqua Pet Americas, 3528 West 500 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84104. Ingredients: Fish meal, wheat flower, soy meal, krill meal, minerals, vitamins and preservatives. Analysis: Crude Protein 36%; Crude fat 4.5%; Crude Fiber 3.5%; Moisture 8% and Ash 15%. was added to my aquarium.

Assembly of MicroAquarium
Obtain a MicroAquarium.
It will have a glass tank, a stand holder and lid.
Using the color dots provided, code your tank as follows.
On the left hand side edge, place three colored dots in a vertical column as follows
The top dot will be the color designated for your lab section.
The second dot will indicate the table you sit at during lab.
The third dot will be the seat number at your table.
Now write your initials on the three colored dots
Using a pipet, extract water from one of the containers on the lab bench or from water sources in the greenhouse or from the extraction you have created.
Extract enough water from the bottom of the container to fill the MicroAquarium tank about 1/3 full.
Extract the next 1/3 of water fro your tank from the middle layer.
Then fill the rest of your tank with water from the surface.
Place your tank in its stand, then decorate it with some plant parts or mosses or other objects provided.
